bridger-teton national forest planning

Whether you hunt, hike, fish, ride, or camp, how the Bridger-Teton National Forest is managed impacts you.

Through forest planning – a process that will guide how our public forest lands on the Bridger-Teton are managed for decades – you have the opportunity to have a say.

Creating a shared vision that looks to the future while honoring Wyoming’s heritage will protect the Bridger-Teton National Forest for all of us.

WHAT IS A FOREST PLAN?

National Forests are managed by forest management plans. A forest plan is a document that guides how our public national forest lands are managed by the US Forest Service.

These plans guide what can happen and where across the entire Forest – including the protection and use of the forest and its natural resources, including wildlife habitat, wilderness, clean water, recreation, timber, and more.

WHAT IS the FOREST PLANning process?

Forest planning is a multi-year, multi-layered process. Wyomingites will have opportunities to shape the future of the Bridger-Teton National Forest by attending public meetings and submitting comments at different stages in the forest planning process.

How can i get involved?

Forest planning is a process that typically only happens once every few decades. Together, we have a unique opportunity to shape the future of the forest.

Stay up to date with the planning process and how you can act for the Bridger-Teton by joining our growing community of hikers, horsemen, anglers, hunters, skiers, boaters, conservationists, and others working together to develop durable solutions for keeping our backyard wild.

We’ll let you know when you can speak up at public meetings, submit comments, and help shape the future of our backyard.
